Coffee in Papua New Guinea
Papua New Guinea (PNG) is a relative newcomer to thespecialty coff ee scene. The remote locations of thenation’s smallholders—who produce 85% of total coff eein the country—combined with historically-poorinfrastructure has made the transition to specialtydiffi cult. Nonetheless, the country is working towardsinnovative solutions that will hopefully lead to betterquality coff ee and improved livelihoods for the nation’ssmallholder coff ee producers.
