Otávio Sérgio Abreu Filho operates his plantation at the 170 acres Fazenda Novo Sol. On his plantation 148 acres are planted with coffee. The main coffee varian ton the farm is Catuai. Otávio is the first in his family to own a coffee plantation, shich he wants to leave for his children to inherit.
After many years of growing common grade brazilian coffee, Otávio turned his attention tot he world of specialty coffee. This decision inspired him to take ownership of new territories, like Fazenda Novo Sol, which is a 70 year old plot with better fertility rates. Otávio cultivates coffee since 1999. At first he had no intention to grow specialty coffee, but after trying it, he quickly achieved great success, market reception was all positive. Otávio was surprised at how quickly he fell in love with growing specialty coffee, because of his passion his fame and recognition grew even further. Fazenda Novo Sol was the first washing station that experimented with different styles of Natural processing methods.
